About Us

Dorchester is a community within the master-planned Westlake Village and contains more than 3200 people living in St. Charles, MD, a suburb of Washington, D.C.

The Dorchester Community contains more than 1,200 homes comprised of both single-family dwellings and town homes.  The community encompasses several properties; namely Dorchester Neighborhood, Dorchester Greens, Dorchester Mews, Dorchester Town Homes, Dorchester Landings and Chestnut Woods.

Westlake Village was designed with "natural" themes in mind.  Dorchester's theme is based on fish and water.  Being with nature, the neighborhood consists of many trees, walking paths and lakes which run through the entire community.

Dorchester is one of the most desirable communities in St. Charles, due to having features such as walking paths, multiple playgrounds, nature areas, scenic lakes, exercise areas, tennis courts, a swimming pool and a luxurious community center.  The main playground and tennis courts are available for use by residents and their guests at the community center.   Additional playgrounds are scattered throughout the community at individual townhome communities and around the lakes.

Our Community Center is one of the highlights of our community.  Multiple events are hosted here throughout the year.  Dorchester's Community Center is available for rent, to all residents in good standing for various occasions such as birthday parties, wedding receptions and graduation and family reunion parties.

Our HOA-sponsored committees host a wide variety of programs and events all throughout the year such as:
  • Holiday Parade & Visit With Santa
  • Easter Egg Hunt and Visit with the Easter Bunny
  • Halloween Parade & Party
  • Annual Themed Pool Party (i.e., Luau)
  • Ice Cream Socials
  • Casino Night
